The Auto Channel, in cooperation with Spectrum Auction Company presents the 5th Annual
Palm Springs Car Classic to the screens of Internet users and car lovers all over the world.
The three day event; Friday through Sunday, April 9th, 10th and 11th; will feature three
days of auctions, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; a Cruise-In on Saturday; and a Concours
d'Elegance on Sunday.
The highlight of the auction will be the 1958 Excalibur Boattail Roadster, one of only
five produced, originally customized in 1964 for actor/dancer Donald O'Connor by George
Barris. In all, more than 400 cars will be on the auction block, with 40 cars at "no
reserve".
A live preview of the auction will be broadcast at 6pm PT on Friday evening. Friday
night's auction session will be broadcast at 7pm PT. Saturday and Sunday's auction
sessions will begin at 10am PT. The live broadcasts will continue until close of each
daily session, approximately 7pm Saturday, and 4pm on Sunday. All times are local
Pacific time. In addition to watching the video coverage, Internet viewers will be
able to see all vehicles in higher resolution still photographs.
Saturday's Cruise-In and Sunday's Concours d'Elegance both begin at 10am PT, on their
respective days. Extensive live reports from the two events will be cut into the auction
coverage throughout the days. These reports will feature "man on the street interviews",
and vehicle profiles.
