The National Association of Black Automotive Suppliers (NABAS) Scholarship Fund Application Deadline Approaching

DETROIT--The National Association of Black Automotive Suppliers Scholarship Fund application deadline is approaching. All applications are due Friday, March 14, 2008.

Interested students, parents and school personnel are encouraged to access the NABAS website for additional information and scholarship applications at www.NABAS.org.

This Years 20th Annual Scholarship Awards Dinner promises to be a spectacular event and will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. The Title Sponsor is Chrysler Corporation. W. Frank Fountain, Senior Vice President, External Affairs and Public Policy will be the Keynote Speaker.

The NABAS Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $850,000 in scholarships to 75 students since 2000. Last years 19th Annual Scholarship Dinner Title Sponsor was General Motors; the Scholarship Fund Raised $147,500 and awarded 4 Full Scholarships and 7 Annual Scholarships.

About the NABAS Scholarship Fund

The NABAS Scholarship Fund is a 501c(3) organization started by NABAS members dedicated to providing college scholarship assistance to high achieving high school graduates in SE Michigan. It is chaired by Michael J. Guthrie, President and CEO, Detroit Chassis. Board members are: Jim Williams, Chairman/CEO Pioneer Automotive, Jeanette Abraham, President/CEO Detroit Heading, Rhonda Glover, NABAS Business Manager and Cassis N. Stafford, Account Officer, Comerica Bank.

The National Association of Black Automotive Suppliers (NABAS) membership includes a broad spectrum of well-established black automotive suppliers. It is chaired by Leon C. Richardson, CEO, Chemico Systems. Since 1986 NABAS has been an advocate for its members, customers and community stakeholders in regard to issues of common concern.
