DETROIT - December 22, 2011: As the Super Bowl and Chevrolet brand have simultaneously evolved as international phenomenons, Chevrolet is going global to create a highly anticipated Super Bowl XLVI TV commercial by offering independent filmmakers from 32 countries a chance to have their 30-second ad run during the telecast of Super Bowl XLVI game on Sunday, February 5, 2012.
Chevrolet Route 66: Crowdsourcing Creates Ads that Resonate
The competition, entitled “Chevrolet Route 66,” is named for
the famed American highway. Consequently, entrants are required to create
an ad which captures the spirit of the everyday hero and the global
experience of life’s journey.
As Chevrolet is sold in 140 countries, crowdsourcing content globally affords the brand a highly effective way to create advertising that resonates with consumers. With great anticipation, the Chevrolet advertising team gathered together to review the consumer generated ads - looking for the best one to be aired during the telecast of Super Bowl XLVI.

view, rate and share their favorite submissions on a specially created

Beginning December 22, 2011 and running through January 26, 2012, fans from Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Mexico, the United Kingdom and United States can watch, rate and share their favorite Chevrolet Route 66 film. Those who share most often can win up to $10,000.
