Fiat Supports The 'World Masters Games 2013' As Technical Sponsor

SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – July 31, 2013: As Technical Sponsor, Fiat is supporting the World Masters Games 2013 being held in Turin from 2-11 August. The games which are organised every four years and involve three times as many participants as a summer edition of the Olympic Games are considered the most important international sporting event dedicated to mature athletes. Fiat is providing organisers with a fleet of vehicles including the 500L MPW, Qubo and Panda models.

Recognised by the International Olympic Committee, the International Masters Games Association (IMGA), takes its inspiration from the Olympic Charter, and organises the event from a shared, winning concept of ‘sport for all’. In the same spirit, the Fiat Group has always supported the world of sport: the various brands have tied their image to many disciplines practised at all levels, including football, basketball, yachting, car racing, motorcycle racing, rugby, boxing, fencing, athletics and winter sports .

Fiat’s sponsorships in recent years has included the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics when the Fiat Group supplied over 3000 cars and 1200 coaches and more recently as the Top Sponsor of the Italian National Football Team which involves accompanying them to the forthcoming World Cup in Brazil.

Additionally, after the London 2012 Olympics and the recent Mersin Mediterranean Games 2013, Fiat will continue to support Italian athletes at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi (Russia), providing them with a fleet of cars personalised by the Italian Olympic Committee graphics, denoting Fiat’s continuing Official Sponsor status for the 2012–2014 three-year period.
