The 117th Chicago Auto Show opened its doors to the car-shopping public on the day before Super Bowl Sunday. Chicago Auto Show, the largest auto show in North America, has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. Auto brands making their first appearance at the show are Polestar, Rivian and Vinfast.
During two days of media previews, Subaru made two Global Debuts, the 2025 Forester Hybrid and 2026 Forester Wilderness, and the all-new Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid made its first public appearance. The all-new Dodge Charger Daytona and Jeep Wagoneer S are on display and driving on the Chicago Drives Electric track. Camp Jeep has returned for its 20th anniversary appearance. Ram Ramcharger is showcasing its next-generation extended range (EREV) technology. Ford is showing its Mustang GTD Spirit of America and the first-ever Mustang RTR. New this year is the Toyota-supported Overlanding Chicago off-road enthusiast exhibit.
The 2025 edition of the show runs from February 8 to 17. With Valentine’s Day on the 14th and Presidents’ Day on the 17th there’s good reason to spend a long weekend in Chicago. The city’s fashion shopping, gastronomic delights to suit many a taste as well as budget, multiple museums and forecasted moderate mid-February weather stack up to a good time for all.
Concept vehicles on display include the Acura Performance EV, Chrysler Halcyon, Kia EV9 Adventure Concept EV, Kia PV5 Weekender Concept EV, Toyota 4 Runner TRD Surf, Toyota GR86 Rally Legacy and the Toyota Land Cruiser ROX. Making their debut are 37 new production vehicles.
Don’t miss the experience of a ride-along in Camp Jeep and Ford Bronco Built Wild tracks.
If you’re curious to learn more about electrified vehicles, be it pure battery electric (BEV) or hybrid gas-electric (HEV) or Plug-in gas-electric (PHEV) you’ll have a chance to see them all. Not one but two Chicago Drives Electric test tracks will let you directly experience how a BEV drives.
If you are giving serious consideration towards an EV, ComEd is at the show. ComEd announced it is offering its Illinois customers $100 million in rebates this year to help fund EV adoption, including $9 million for home charging systems, $53 million for EV fleet purchases and $38 million for infrastructure charging projects.
Here’s a brief pictorial of what there is to see.
