2000 BMW X5 4.4i -- BMW has brought to the market an automotive contradiction -- a high riding, high-performance vehicle that's as fearless as it is fun.
Introduced to the US market last fall, the all-wheel drive X5 SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) has won numerous awards and accolades. Sporting a powerful the 4.4-liter twincam, 32-valve aluminum V8 with a Steptronic 5-speed automatic transmission, the X5 boasts 282 horsepower (@5400rpm) and 324 lb-ft of torque (@3600rpm).
The 3.0i six-cylinder version was introduced in January at the 2000 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. It will have a base price of $39,470.
