Goodbye "Integra" hello "RSX." The magicians at Acura have concocted an
outstanding sport coupe in this the 2002 RSX Type S. The first ingredient
is a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that conjures up 200, yes 200
horsepower. We tested the 6 speed manual which is a smooth, high-revving
experience with plenty of power throughout the legal and sane speed range,
and beyond. Combine that with enhanced rigidity of the frame, very
comfortable steering wheel, sculpted leather seats and you'll feel rock
steady in the curves. Indeed, you'll find yourself preferring to take the
way home with the most curves.
Be sure to check out the compound curved glass of the door and
quarter-panel windows of the RSX. It's a great look, reduces noise and
drag and helps fuel economy - which gets 31 on the highway and is LEV to boot.
Toss in a premium Bose sound system in a well designed metallic style dash,
put a 23K price tag on it, and you've got a seriously cool ride.
